Right now its spring break for the kiddies. We still do our regular homeschool subjects but are on break from all the classes they take from the local school district. Which opens up our late mornings and afternoons.
This week we headed over to St. Edwards State Park. I love this park! Lots of wonderful trails, some great history, and an awesome playground.
Here’s a cute pic of Bron playing at the playground.
and Thisbe and Magnus stepping off the trail to balance on a log.
This day we met some friends for lunch with plans to find one of the letter boxes hidden in the park. I didn’t have my hopes too high on finding this one since our last attempt on another box was unsuccessful. I am always up for giving it a try, however.
This time we were successful. The directions and landmarks were unmistakable. There was the Haunted Troll Mansion,
the Leprechaun Amphitheatre,
and the home to the Crab Pot; a nursing stump by the side of the trail.
I am so glad we actually found this one. For a little while I was getting a bit nervous that we’d have to give up.
Here’s the crab from the Crab Pot
and all our stamps we added to the book. The skull and bones belongs to Magnus and the dinosaur footprint belongs to Thisbe. I want to make our own stamps at some point but haven’t tried yet.
We had such a great time. There are supposed to be 3 more hiding in the park so maybe we’ll come back before we move and try to find them. Here’s the link again to see if there are any hiding in your area.
