This latest quilt is really doing a number on me.
1. I had to do some major thinking in order to come up with a plan. This included a calculator and some graph paper.
It seems like it’s been forever since I had to use my brain so much. The quilt could be simple and strait forward but, oh no, I wanted use my Denyse Schmidt influence. You’d think it would be easier this way, usually is, but not this time. Once I figured it out, I wondered what the fuss was about. I guess I’m a bit rusty.
2. I have a very limited amount of the main color fabric. Like just barely enough, if I’m lucky. (this is due to poor purchase planning on my part)
This just further complicates things. Not only do my measurement have to be accurate, something I am not used to, I have to be very frugal and think of ways to save fabric so I can make it to the end.
I’m not complaining, it feels good to give my brain a workout, but boy it sure is a tough one. I just have to keep reminding myself to slow down, don’t rush, think, no room for mistakes, make it last.
I think I’ll make it.
